Solomon's Edge Over D Has Become Enormous

Solomon Kane enters Friday with one of the largest expected advantages in the league. Solomon is projected for 155.35 against D's 101.48, a 53.87-point gap. Neither side had anyone play Thursday, so this is entirely the result of lineup changes and updated availability. Solomon has Lamar Jackson, Bijan Robinson, Cam Skattebo, Drake London, George Pickens, Isaiah Likely, Davante Adams, Jaylen Warren, and Jakobi Meyers. Jackson is now questionable rather than out, which dramatically improves the outlook. D counters with Ashton Jeanty, Emeka Egbuka, Zay Flowers, Dalton Kincaid, Bhayshul Tuten, and Luther Burden, but Jalen Hurts currently carries a zero projection. D entered the week needing to stop the slide. The hill has gotten much steeper.

Recap

D Turns a 54-Point Underdog Story Into a Blowout

Friday gave D almost no chance. Sunday gave D a 24.80-point win. Grimmlaw stunned Solomon Kane 121.80–97.00, beating projection by 16.86 points while Solomon missed his by 36.66. Bhayshul Tuten led D with 24.70, Emeka Egbuka scored 17.80, Luther Burden added 17.50, and Ashton Jeanty finished with 15.80. Solomon got 23.90 from Isaiah Likely, but Bijan Robinson scored only 7.30, Cam Skattebo gave him a zero, and several other starters came in well below expectation. Solomon entered Friday with a projected advantage approaching 54 points. D leaves Week 6 with the win and a 2-4 record.

Blood War II: The Elder Draws First Blood

The second Blood War of the season is underway, and Thursday belonged to neither Vampire particularly well. Blade's Emanuel Wilson scored only 5.20 against a 12.62 projection, dropping the Turned Vampire's expected total to 99.33. Santanico Pandemonium hasn't had anyone play yet and now holds a 109.48–99.33 advantage. The Elder has Jacoby Brissett, Alvin Kamara, Braelon Allen, Denzel Boston, Pat Freiermuth, Jalen Coker, Kendrick Bourne, Dameon Pierce, and the Kansas City defense. Blade counters with Bryce Young, Kendre Miller, Brock Bowers, Keon Coleman, Darius Cooper, Devaughn Vele, and the Indianapolis defense. Bowers is questionable with a knee injury. There is no Feeding in a Blood War. The winner gets bragging rights, the victory, and the +$10 FAAB bonus. After Thursday, the Elder has the first meaningful edge.

Recap

The Elder Wins Blood War II

Blood War II belongs to Santanico Pandemonium. The Elder Vampire beat Blade 114.60–87.75, turning a close projection into a 26.85-point victory. Keenan Allen led Santanico with 16.20, the Kansas City defense added 16.00, Dameon Pierce scored 15.00, Alvin Kamara finished with 14.90, and Jalen Coker added 14.70. Blade got 26.65 from Bryce Young and 15.90 from Keon Coleman, but Brock Bowers scored only 11.00, Emanuel Wilson managed 5.20, Rashod Bateman gave him a zero, and the Colts defense scored just 2.00. Because this was a Blood War, there is no Feeding. Santanico gets the victory, the +$10 FAAB bonus, and bragging rights over the Turned Vampire.

Dio Wins Thursday. State of Decay Still Leads.

But it was I Dio needed help against a strong State of Decay lineup and got some Thursday. RJ Harvey scored 14.60, beating his projection by 4.61 and lifting Dio's expected total to 130.01. State of Decay still leads the forecast at 147.43, but the margin has narrowed to 17.41. Dio still has Jayden Daniels, James Cook, Kyren Williams, Garrett Wilson, Trey McBride, Kyle Pitts, and Wan'Dale Robinson. State counters with Jordan Love, Chuba Hubbard, Christian McCaffrey, Christian Watson, Parker Washington, Travis Kelce, Josh Downs, and Saquon Barkley. Barkley and Downs are questionable. Dio put up 151.45 last week and lost. He may need something close to that again.

Recap

State of Decay Survives Dio's Push

Dio made this much closer than the projection suggested, but State of Decay held on 135.10–127.50. Christian McCaffrey led State with 29.70, Jordan Love scored 26.00, Chuba Hubbard added 19.10, and Colston Loveland delivered 18.50. Dio countered with 28.00 from Jayden Daniels, 24.30 from James Cook, and a huge 23.00 from Kyle Pitts. But Kyren Williams, Garrett Wilson, and Wan'Dale Robinson all finished well below projection. State missed its own projection by nearly 15 points and still escaped. Taren moves to 4-2 while Dio falls to 2-4 despite scoring 838.50 points through six weeks.

Edgar Gets the Thursday Edge in the Battle of Desperation

Dmangina is still searching for the first win of the season, and Thursday made that search harder. Jaxon Smith-Njigba scored an excellent 25.40 for Dmangina, but Jaylen Waddle managed only 6.40. Edgar Frog got 14.00 from the Denver defense, beating its projection by 7.47. The result is a 123.49–103.19 expected advantage for Edgar. Dmangina still has Caleb Williams, Quinshon Judkins, Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, Jake Ferguson, and Brenton Strange, but David Montgomery is doubtful and the Minnesota defense has a zero projection. Edgar counters with Tyler Shough, Rhamondre Stevenson, Chris Olave, George Kittle, Blake Corum, Quentin Johnston, and Kenny Gainwell. Edgar became the Elder Vampire's first meal last week. Dmangina is trying desperately not to become 0-6. Somebody here badly needs Sunday.

Recap

Edgar Gets Back to .500. Dmangina Gets to 0-6.

Edgar Frog handled the desperation game 118.75–100.45 and climbed back to 3-3. Drake Maye led Edgar with 32.15, George Kittle added 17.90, Blake Corum scored 14.00, and the Denver defense contributed another 14.00. Dmangina got 28.50 from Malik Nabers, 25.40 from Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and 20.55 from Caleb Williams, but the running back situation was disastrous. Quinshon Judkins and David Montgomery both scored zero, and the Minnesota defense added another zero. Dmangina actually beat projection slightly and still lost by 18.30. Six weeks in, the record is now an increasingly unbelievable 0-6.

Lincoln Gets 20.50 Thursday. Richter Still Isn't Impressed.

Abraham Lincoln needed a strong Thursday to put pressure on Richter Belmont. Instead, the night was mixed. J.K. Dobbins scored 13.60, beating his projection, but Courtland Sutton managed only 3.90 and the Seattle defense scored 3.00. Lincoln leaves Thursday with 20.50 points and a 110.45 expected total. Richter hasn't played anyone yet and remains projected for 135.73, a 25.29-point advantage. Richter still has Trevor Lawrence, D'Andre Swift, Javonte Williams, Michael Wilson, Tyler Warren, Mike Evans, CeeDee Lamb, and the Jacksonville defense. Lincoln counters with Brock Purdy, Jonathan Taylor, Omarion Hampton, Rashee Rice, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Richter lost for the first time last week. Friday's projection says revenge remains very much on schedule.

Recap

Richter Responds With a 64-Point Demolition

Richter Belmont's first loss apparently made him angry. One week after Father Callahan ended the perfect season, Richter destroyed Abraham Lincoln 146.70–82.20. Trevor Lawrence erupted for 39.40, D'Andre Swift scored 23.00, DeVonta Smith added 20.50, Carnell Tate scored 19.00, and CeeDee Lamb finished with 16.00. Lincoln's top scorer was Brock Purdy at 22.00, with Jonathan Taylor adding 20.10 and J.K. Dobbins 13.60. Almost everything else disappeared. Richter wins by 64.50, improves to 5-1, and keeps himself right beside Lucian at the top of the standings.

Father Callahan Is Actually Favored Over 5-0 Lucian

This is now the marquee matchup of Week 6. Lucian remains the league's only undefeated team at 5-0, but Father Callahan enters Friday as a 145.43–143.96 favorite. Neither side had anyone play Thursday. Lucian still has Josh Allen, Bucky Irving, Derrick Henry, Tetairoa McMillan, Matthew Golden, DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin, Woody Marks, and Harold Fannin. Callahan answers with Matthew Stafford, Kenneth Walker, Puka Nacua, Nico Collins, Tucker Kraft, Stefon Diggs, Ladd McConkey, Mark Andrews, and Rachaad White. Diggs and McConkey are questionable, but Callahan's repaired lineup looks completely different from Tuesday's version. Last week Father Callahan ended Richter's perfect season. This week he gets a chance to end the only perfect season left.

Recap

Father Callahan Kills Another Perfect Season

Last week Father Callahan handed Richter Belmont his first loss. This week he did it again to Lucian. Callahan beat the league's last undefeated team 120.80–112.75, ending Lucian's perfect season at 5-0. Kenneth Walker led Callahan with 27.90, Matthew Stafford scored 22.10, Stefon Diggs added 16.40, and Rachaad White finished with 15.70. Lucian got 24.85 from Josh Allen, 22.40 from Matthew Golden, and 20.30 from DK Metcalf, but Derrick Henry scored only 4.00, Harold Fannin managed 1.90, and several other starters missed badly. Neither team came close to projection, but Callahan found enough. Two weeks. Two previously undefeated teams. Father Callahan is becoming a problem.

Richter's Perfect Season Took a Hit. It Still Has Plenty of Cushion.

Richter Belmont entered Week 5 undefeated at 4-0, leading the league with 672.25 points and looking almost untouchable on paper. Thursday night finally drew some blood. Dak Prescott managed 19.80, Javonte Williams scored 14.20, and CeeDee Lamb delivered a miserable 2.90, leaving Richter with 36.90 points already scored and dropping his updated expected total to 133.71. Father Callahan sits at 109.51, so Richter still holds a healthy 24.20-point advantage. Callahan has Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, Nico Collins, Jameson Williams, and Tucker Kraft waiting to play, but one starting slot is empty and Stefon Diggs currently carries a zero projection. Richter counters with Chase Brown, Tyler Warren, Michael Wilson, Mike Evans, and D'Andre Swift, with several injury tags still hanging around. Thursday proved the league's highest-scoring Slayer can bleed. It just didn't come close to killing him.

Recap

Father Callahan Finally Finds Richter's Weakness

Richter Belmont entered Week 5 undefeated, heavily favored, and looking almost impossible to kill. Father Callahan apparently brought the right equipment. Callahan stunned Richter 138.55–119.85, handing the league's highest-scoring Slayer his first loss of the season. Matthew Stafford exploded for 37.15, Puka Nacua added 37.70, and the Houston defense contributed 16.00. Richter got 26.30 from Mike Evans and 21.40 from Tyler Warren, but CeeDee Lamb scored only 2.90, Chase Brown managed 6.00, and Romeo Doubs added just 2.60. Pickens Flips the Matchup in Solomon's Favor

Solomon Kane started the season 2-0 before dropping two straight, while But it was I Dio followed the exact opposite path, recovering from 0-2 to reach .500. Before Thursday, Dio held the projected edge. George Pickens changed that in a hurry. Pickens erupted for 28.00 points against a 13.80 projection, pushing Solomon's updated expected total to 151.27 and flipping the matchup in his favor over Dio's 143.07. Solomon still has Justin Herbert, Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Davante Adams, Sam LaPorta, and Jaylen Warren waiting to play. Dio counters with Jayden Daniels, James Cook, Kyren Williams, Garrett Wilson, Trey McBride, and Justin Jefferson, who is questionable with an ankle injury. One Slayer is trying to stop a two-game losing streak. The other is trying to extend a two-game winning streak. Pickens just handed Solomon an 8.20-point head start.

Recap

Solomon Kane Wins the Week's Shootout

But it was I Dio scored 151.45 points and still lost by 20. Solomon Kane erupted for 171.45, the second-highest score of the week, behind 36.80 from Jaylen Warren, 28.00 from George Pickens, 22.10 from Davante Adams, and 19.80 from Sam LaPorta. Dio certainly didn't go quietly. Jayden Daniels scored 34.25, Garrett Wilson added 23.40, Trey McBride scored 21.60, and James Cook reached 20.80. The Elder Vampire Is One Good Sunday From His First Feeding

On Tuesday, Edgar Frog appeared to have one of the safest assignments in the league. Santanico Pandemonium was 0-4, still searching for the Elder Vampire's first Feeding, and struggling to field a competitive lineup. A few roster repairs later, the entire situation has changed. Santanico added Jacoby Brissett, T.J. Hockenson, Will Shipley, and other reinforcements and now carries an updated expected total of 106.73. Edgar sits at 108.16 after Kenny Gainwell scored just 5.80 Thursday, leaving only 1.43 points between them. Edgar still has Amon-Ra St. Brown, Chris Olave, George Kittle, Tyler Shough, and Rhamondre Stevenson, but Quentin Johnston currently carries a zero projection and several players have injury tags. Santanico counters with Brissett, Braelon Allen, Hockenson, Alvin Kamara, and a rebuilt supporting cast. The Elder has not fed once this season. Edgar would very much prefer not to become the first meal.

Recap

The Elder Vampire Finally Feeds

Five weeks into the season, Santanico Pandemonium finally tasted blood. The Elder Vampire beat Edgar Frog 102.10–86.30 for his first victory and first Feeding of the season. Jacoby Brissett carried the rebuilt lineup with 35.20 points, while Braelon Allen added 17.60 and Denzel Boston scored 13.60. Edgar never found enough offense. Rhamondre Stevenson led the team with only 17.50, Tyler Shough managed 2.80, and several normally dependable starters came in well below projection. The final margin was 15.80 points. Bucky Irving Just Made Lucian Even More Terrifying

Lucian entered Week 5 at 4-0 with 662.35 season points and a lineup that already looked like something out of a Slayer's worst nightmare. Then Bucky Irving erupted for 31.50 on Thursday, beating his projection by 16.43 points. Lucian is now expected to score 168.62 against D's 119.54, a monstrous 49.08-point advantage. D did get 17.20 from Emeka Egbuka, but that barely made a dent. Lucian still has Josh Allen, Jahmyr Gibbs, Derrick Henry, DK Metcalf, Aaron Jones, and Matthew Golden waiting to play. D counters with Jalen Hurts, Ashton Jeanty, Zay Flowers, Dalton Kincaid, and Bhayshul Tuten, but one starting slot remains empty and multiple starters are questionable. D already lost Ja'Marr Chase to Blade's Feeding last week. Now another undefeated Slayer is threatening to make the season considerably more unpleasant.

Recap

Lucian Doesn't Win. Lucian Annihilates.

Lucian is now the league's only undefeated team, and Week 5 was less a victory than a demonstration. The 5-0 Slayer destroyed D 184.70–91.00, a staggering 93.70-point margin. Jahmyr Gibbs scored 37.70, Josh Allen added 35.60, Bucky Irving delivered 31.50, Derrick Henry scored 21.00, and Matthew Golden added 20.30. D's highest scorer was Emeka Egbuka at just 17.20. Dmangina is 0-4 despite scoring 520.55 points, more than several teams with winning records. Apparently the fantasy gods have decided that still isn't enough suffering. Jake Ferguson managed only 4.90 points Thursday, while Caleb Williams remains OUT and currently occupies a zero-projection quarterback spot. Dmangina's updated expected total is down to 104.90. State of Decay didn't exactly dominate Thursday either, getting just 1.00 point from the Dallas defense, but still holds a 121.15–104.90 projected advantage. State has Christian McCaffrey, Bo Nix, Christian Watson, Tee Higgins, Parker Washington, and Josh Downs waiting to play. Dmangina counters with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Quinshon Judkins, David Montgomery, Jaylen Waddle, Rome Odunze, and Malik Nabers. There is enough talent here to win a football game. Finding an available quarterback would be an excellent start.

Recap

Dmangina Is Somehow Still Winless

Dmangina's miserable start reached 0-5 after State of Decay won 124.15–99.50. The frustrating part is that Dmangina again had legitimate production: Malik Nabers scored 29.10, Jaxon Smith-Njigba added 22.80, and Brenton Strange put up 13.80. But Caleb Williams produced a zero, David Montgomery scored only 1.10, and several other starters came in well below projection. State of Decay wasn't spectacular everywhere either, but Parker Washington exploded for 30.40 and Christian Watson added 32.30. Taren moves to 3-2. Blade finally tasted blood in Week 4, defeating D and claiming Ja'Marr Chase in the league's first Feeding of the season. Now the Turned Vampire enters Week 5 at 2-2 with a chance to make it two consecutive meals. The latest projections favor Blade 120.89–117.05 over 3-1 Abraham Lincoln, a razor-thin 3.83-point advantage. Blade has rebuilt the lineup around Kirk Cousins, Ja'Marr Chase, Ollie Gordon, Malik Washington, Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and Tyler Higbee. Chase remains questionable with a concussion, however, and his availability could determine whether the hunt succeeds. Lincoln counters with Joe Burrow, Jonathan Taylor, Courtland Sutton, J.K. Dobbins, Brock Bowers, and Jacory Croskey-Merritt, with several players carrying injury tags. Lincoln has survived three of four matchups this season. Blade only needs one victory to turn another Slayer's roster into a blood donation.

Recap

Blade Makes It Two Straight

Blade's first Feeding wasn't a one-week fluke. The Turned Vampire beat Abraham Lincoln 126.65–117.40 to improve to 3-2 and pick up a second consecutive victory. Ja'Marr Chase led Blade with 19.70, while Darius Cooper scored 15.10, Ollie Gordon added 14.80, and Tyler Higbee chipped in 13.30. Lincoln got 34.50 from Joe Burrow and 22.00 from Brock Bowers, but Jonathan Taylor and several supporting pieces fell short. Tuesday had this matchup looking like a near coin flip, but Friday gives Edgar Frog a little more room. Amon-Ra St. Brown, Chris Olave, George Kittle, and Tyler Shough lead Edgar's hunt, while Callahan counters with Matthew Stafford, Kenneth Walker, Stefon Diggs, and Ladd McConkey. McConkey and Jadarian Price carry questionable tags, but both lineups are in much better shape than they were Tuesday. Edgar is favored by 8.21, but neither Slayer should feel particularly safe.

Recap

Richter is 3-0 with 497.70 season points, while Solomon is 2-1 with 461.95, making this a collision between two of the league's strongest rosters. Abraham Lincoln counters with Jonathan Taylor, Brock Purdy, Rashee Rice, and Brock Bowers, although DJ Moore is questionable. Both teams enter 2-1, so this isn't just another hunt — somebody is leaving Week 4 with a very useful early-season win.

Recap

Lincoln Survives by Seven-Tenths of a Point

This was not pretty. It was, however, incredibly close. Abraham Lincoln escaped State of Decay 106.80–106.10, winning by just 0.70 despite finishing nearly 30 points below projection. State of Decay somehow did even worse, missing its projection by 33.09. Brock Purdy's 25.80, Jonathan Taylor's 22.70, and Brock Bowers' 20.60 were just enough to survive Tee Higgins' 26.70 and Chuba Hubbard's 25.90. Lincoln moves to 3-1. Blade entered as the underdog and beat D 126.65–109.55, outperforming projection by 16.64 points to secure the first Feeding of the season. Bryce Young led the attack with 28.75, Emanuel Wilson erupted for 26.00, and Ollie Gordon added 18.00. D got 25.80 from Zay Flowers, but too many other starters came up short. The reward is exactly what a Vampire has been waiting for: Ja'Marr Chase has been taken from D and added to Blade. Blade is suddenly 2-2, has tasted blood, and just added one of the biggest weapons in the league. The hunt has officially changed.

Dmangina Hit First. Lucian Barely Noticed.

Dmangina finally got something to celebrate Thursday when Quinshon Judkins exploded for 21.60 points, beating his projection by 10.95. Lucian answered with 11.70 from Harold Fannin, almost exactly on projection. The big night from Judkins cut Lucian's expected advantage from 45.65 points to 34.76, but the undefeated Slayer still leads 156.53–121.77. Worse for Dmangina, Caleb Williams is doubtful and currently carries a zero projection at quarterback. Dmangina drew first blood. Unfortunately, Lucian still looks very hungry.

Recap

Lucian Rolls to 4-0

Dmangina got 21.60 from Quinshon Judkins on Thursday and eventually finished above projection. Lucian did not care. Tetairoa McMillan detonated for 44.20 points, Josh Allen added 23.05, and Lucian cruised to a 161.25–120.20 victory. Dmangina actually got six double-digit performances despite taking a zero at quarterback, but there was never enough firepower to keep pace. Lucian improves to 4-0 with 662.35 season points, just behind Richter Belmont atop the standings. Dmangina falls to a brutal 0-4 despite having scored 520.55 points — more than four teams currently sitting above him.

Two undefeated Slayers entered. Only Richter Belmont escaped without a loss. Edgar Frog actually beat his projection behind 33.35 from Tyler Shough and 26.20 from George Kittle, but Richter simply had too many answers. CeeDee Lamb scored 20.20, Juwan Johnson added 22.30, and the Jaguars defense chipped in 17.00 as Richter finished with 159.80. Hockenson, Jalen Coker, and a new San Francisco defense, while Blade has continued churning the roster with Bryce Young, Demarcus Robinson, Mike Gesicki, and others. Blade is still searching for a stable core, and Santanico now carries a 12.08-point advantage.
