Carousel of Chaos

League Rules

Year 3 — Embrace the Chaos

You can draft the perfect team.

You can dominate the waiver wire.

You can build a championship roster.

And then somebody takes your best player.

💀 The Carousel

All teams draft normally.

Every matchup results in two player swaps after the week is complete.

Winner's Spoils

Starter Swap

The winner may take one of the loser's starters and sends back one of their own starters.

Loser's Revenge

Bench Swap

The loser may take a player from the winner's bench and sends back a player from their own bench.

Win and you can strengthen your starting lineup. Lose and you still get a shot at your opponent's depth.

↔️ Swap Positions

Swaps must be made at the same position whenever possible.

QB ↔ QB
RB ↔ RB
WR ↔ WR
TE ↔ TE

If a same-position swap is not possible, an eligible FLEX player may be swapped for another eligible FLEX player.

🛡️ The IR Safe Zone

Players occupying IR spots are safe from swaps.

IR spots may be used for players designated IR or OUT.

Once a player is no longer eligible for IR, they must be returned to the active roster.

If an active player is left in an IR spot once their game begins, the protection disappears and that player becomes eligible for swaps.

⚠️ The OUT Rule

An OUT player who is not protected in an IR spot may still be swapped.

You may TAKE an OUT player.

You may NOT SEND an OUT player.

You may willingly assume the risk of taking an injured player, but you may not dump your injured player onto another manager.

↪️ The Bye Week Rule

You may NOT TAKE a player currently on BYE.

You MAY SEND one of your own players who is currently on BYE.

The rest of the swap must still meet the normal league requirements.

⚠️ Full Roster Rule

Every team must maintain a full roster consisting of players currently on NFL teams.

  • No intentionally empty roster spots
  • No retired players
  • No players who are no longer on an NFL roster being used as placeholders

Incomplete Roster Penalty

If your roster is not full when Swap Day begins on Tuesday, your opponent may choose ANY player or position to swap.

🔀 Swap Day — Tuesday

After Monday Night Football ends, the Carousel begins to spin.

Normally:

The loser submits their bench swap first.

The winner submits their starter swap second.

The winner may choose to submit first if they want to.

If the matchup is mathematically decided before Monday Night Football, teams may begin their swaps on Monday.

Swaps continue through the end of the regular season. Once the playoffs begin, the Carousel stops.

🚫 The Tuesday Freeze

There are no player drops or pickups on Tuesday.

Tuesday belongs entirely to the Carousel. This keeps rosters exactly as they were when the matchups were played and prevents roster manipulation before swaps are completed.

Swap Deadline

9:00 PM ET Tuesday

Miss the deadline?

Your opponent chooses BOTH swaps.

💰 Waiver Wednesday

Once the Carousel stops spinning, rebuilding begins.

Waivers run Wednesday morning as normal using FAAB.

Do you replace what you lost?

Chase the latest breakout?

Repair your bench?

Prepare for the next opponent?

Or grab someone knowing they might become valuable enough to be stolen next week?

⚠️ Active Managers Only

This league requires active managers throughout the season.

  • Set your lineup
  • Make your swaps after every matchup
  • Stay active on waivers
  • Pay attention throughout the season

The team you draft will not be the team you finish with.

Stars will change hands.

Bench players will become starters.

Your greatest rival may take your favorite player.
